Can you please tell me how to delete Adobe Reader DC from my MAC? I understand that Adobe has a special link with tools to do so.

All I want is the old fashioned adobe reader program to use. Can't stand DC !

Thank you for your help.

Hi Rhonda,

There is no uninstaller for Reader in Mac. You can directly delete the application from Applications folder, that is just trash /Applications/Adobe Reader.app. Also this may cause a break in Safari functionality to read PDF files using Adobe Reader plugin. To resolve this, go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/  and remove AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

Rave

Rave, your answer doesn't seem to have been verified.

I checked on a Mac on which I made a recent test of "Adobe Reader DC", with a fresh install and a track of it.

The installer didn't install anything within:

    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer*

On the other hand, it installed a ton of files (well in fact about 1500 files) within:

    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ARMDC

                                       ARMNext

                                       HelpCfg

                                       Reader/DC

   /Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.ARMDCHelper.*

   /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.adobe.ARMDC.Communicator.plist

   /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.adobe.ARMDC.SMJobBlessHelper.plist

   /Library/Preferences/com.adobereader.DC.WebResource.plist

   /Library/PriviledgedHelperTools/com.adobe.ARMDC.Communicator
                                   com.adobe.ARMDC.SMJobBlessHelper

Since I will have to do it to clean my Mac, if anyone is interested by a shell script to clean all this garbage left behind,

I could post it here.

I tested it successfully on a clean Yosemite 10.10.4. Here is this shell script:

Rave,

iOS X Yosemite 10.10.5 doesn't show either "AdobePDFViewer.plugin" OR "AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin" in /Library/Internetplug-ins.  So how do we uninstall AARDC in that case?  The frickin' app won't open, and NONE of the hundreds of pdfs it created can be opened as long as it is in the machine.  What a bummer! P.S. when I ship them to my iPhone they open just fine!

And what if AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin are NOT in InternetPlugin?
