The following steps is what finally ended up working for me.

1. Deactivate Creative Suite

2. Uninstall Creative Suite

3. Reboot

4. Run Adobe Creative Cloud CleanerTool

5. Install Creative Suite using the following technique Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

6. Reboot and start in Safe Mode

7. Launch Acrobat in Safe Mode

8. Reboot

After that Creative Suite 6, including Acrobat worked.

This also worked for me when installing CS6 on Mac OS X 10.11.5 (El Capitan)

In my testing so far all the CS6 apps seem to be functioning correctly.

Big thank you to e-chris for posting Correct Answer6. Re: Acrobat CS6 Installation Error
