P: Custom sort or latest chosen sort option is not persistent

Expected behaviour:

Given a lightroom album with images

When I select “Sort by Custom > Custom > Edit”

And reorder my images

And reopen the App

Then the images are shown in the Custom order

(same behaviour expected for the general case, the latest chosen sort option)

Current behaviour:

Images are shown in the default order by capture date for all albums after reopening the App.

Problem I see with it:

Earlier custom sort was persistent, images were shown according to the latest chosen sort option. Now, I need to reset the desired sort option for all albums every time I open the App which is inconvenient recurring work.

In LR for IOS, all albums fail to respect my required sort order which is “Sort by capture date (descending)”. LR always goes back to ascending order after new photos are added

Since a recent update, LR Mobile on iOS ignores Custom Sort order set for collection synced from LR Classic on Windows PC. If I manually select Custom Order, the change doesn’t stick. Next time I open LR Mobile, the collection is back to Sort by Capture Time default. Same issue on both iPhone and iPad.

@durham1 I am also seeing the same issue on my Android Samsung Note Pro 12.2 tablet using the version LR Mobile For Android 6.1 with LrC 10.1. I have numerous albums created in LrC that all have Custom Sort Order. The sort order in the Web app at https://lightroom.adobe.com/ matches what I see in LrC 10.1. When I check my Samsung tablet all of the albums are sorted by Capture Time. If I go into each album and change the Sort Order from Capture time to Custom the sort order matched what I see in LrC 10.1 and the Web app. However, if I close LR onmy tablet or power it off the sort order reverts to Capture Time same as what you are seeing. I'm not sure when this changed, but I did not have the issue with older versions.

Rikk, is this something Adobe Engineering is aware of and working on?

I still see problems here. I am using Lighroom for Android version 8.1.2.

Two problems:

1. The DEFAULT sort order of images in an album viewed on LRMobile for Android is reverse chronological, when it should (in my opinion) be normal chronological. Album images are sorted correctly in chronological order when viewed in LR Web, LR Classic, and LR Desktop.

2. The sort order in LR Android can be corrected by going to the "three dots" menu and flipping the "reverse" switch. However this change is not "sticky" - it resets to the wrong order again after force-quitting the app.
